Why yes, I did go home at lunch and knead dough.
Which brings me to my No. 1 New Year’s Resolution: To cook and bake amazing food. I will go into more detail on this resolution New Years Day.
I recently designed this Air Mail inspired wedding invitation for a client but we decided to go in a different direction. But I loved the whimsy and playful nature of this invitation so I kept going with it just to see what the final product could look like.
I designed it with a destination wedding in mind. And I love the way a cream paper would act as a nice contrast to the bold, graphic nature of the piece and kind of tones down the red and blue.
If you would like for me to customize/update this invitation for your wedding holler at me for details: email@example.com
The weather in Oklahoma is extreme. We get tornadoes. And we get ice.
Jeremy was sent home from work about 1.5 hours after arriving. We packed up the car and headed down to my parent’s place. They live about 25 miles South of us in Norman and it took us right at an hour to make it there. We lost control about a mile from their home and almost slid into a ditch. We finally arrived and I got excited as we were running from our car to the safety of my parent’s home by pretending I was on Mount Everest.
We had an amazing Christmas Eve slumber party and an even more amazing Christmas morning. And when we finally decided to try and drive back home we passed dozens of abandoned cars – one had even caught fire! It felt very post-apocalyptic.
I hope everyone had a very merry holiday!
Our office was shut down this morning – SNOW DAY!
But what you see here isn’t actually snow. It’s tiny little balls of sleet that sting when they hit your face.Jeremy is headed home from work early – and as soon as he gets here we’re heading down to my parent’s home for a Christmas Eve sleepover! I’m beyond excited about this.
Happy Holidays everyone! I’ll be back next week with loot and a new wedding invitation design.
Do you all have any holiday plans? How’s the weather? What’s new?
P.S. Did you notice my new invitation side bar? I’m trying to make this place look a little nicer for you all.
I’ve been craving homemade pizza ever since we made it on our mini-vacation. I made up a big batch of dough on Sunday (the dough takes at least 24 hours to make and can last up to 3 days).
Every Wednesday night Jeremy and I make dinner for our friends and we watch Dexter (did any one see the season finale!?). This Wednesday I decided on homemade build-your-own pizzas but had to do a trial run last night. Just to make sure everything tasted alright. Because I made the dough on Sunday it ended up being a quick and easy dinner.
What I love most about this recipe is that the dough is so thin and crispy. And while it’s not the healthiest meal ever, you have complete control over all of the ingredients – so nothing artificial winds up in your dough and you can at least try to use lots of veggies and not so much cheese. It’s a good alternative to ordering out.
