Ginger and garlic (brown) fried rice with onions. Topped with arame sea veggies and a fried egg. Jeremy’s reaction: “When did you become Top Chef!?”

I’ve been wanting to try out this recipe over at Smitten Kitchen ever since it was posted. And I’m currently reading Alicia Silverstone’s book, The Kind Diet, and was inspired by all of her Asian-influenced cooking. She talks a lot about sea veggies which I hadn’t given much thought too except for when I’m eating sushi. I picked up a package at Native Roots this weekend and Jeremy actually suggested integrating them into this recipe.

The combination of deconstructed flavors was amazing. I had slightly overcooked the egg and missed out on the oozy goodness of the yolk. I’ll try again with leftovers.
