Hello, baby.

I’ll write a proper birth story post soon enough but just wanted to pop in to say that our little boy was born at home Sunday evening and hasn’t stopped chowing down on some boobie ever since.

Fox Elliott
Born January 19, 2014 at 10:23PM
7lbs 5oz / 20″ tall

I will continue to share little bits of life with baby over on my Instagram. I have a few scheduled posts over the next few weeks, but things may be a little quiet around here for a bit otherwise.

  1. Congrats! You did it! You ALL did. Welcome to the outside, Foxy baby.

I have two boys and I’ll tell you now: they never get enough of the boob. Both of ’em ate all the time as newborns; my first weaned before his second birthday; my second will be 13 months on the 31st and has not shown interest in givin’ up on ’em. Oh well. There’s good stuff in there!

Some, incidentally, never grow out of that boob love, either. Bahahaha!

  2. SusanA

WooHoo! Oh, Kathleen, he’s beautiful! I’m so happy for you and Jeremy. Welcome, Fox Elliott!

  9. Alien Mind Girls

YAY!!! I have been so excited for this post so I could tell you congratulations. Way to go, Mommy Kathleen and baby Fox!

    I love the name.

You-know-who showed me a beautiful and cuddly picture of you holding him, and you looked absolutely radiant.

  10. Julie

Yay!! Congrats lady – he’s a cutie!! I also just wanted to add that being childless, I have thoroughly enjoyed your open and honest trip through pregnancy. One can get a little skeptical about the sugar coated “pregnancy is amazing and all I do is glow” account. I can’t wait to hear what childbirth is really like, in all it’s poopy glory :).

Enjoy motherhood – you’ll be fantastic!

    • I love hearing that! And yes. There was poop for sure. πŸ˜‰

  11. you did it! good work, lady! he is gorgeous and i love love love his name! can’t wait for the juicy deets. πŸ™‚

  12. He’s beautiful! Sending your family and your new little one lots of wishes for health and fun together for a lifetime.

  13. Stacia

I love the name! Great choice! Enjoy this new adventure!

  14. Urban Wife

You know how sometimes you look at a baby and just know their name was meant for them? That’s your baby. Congrats J&K.

    • Aw, thanks! It actually took a couple days to feel sure that Fox was right for this little one.

  15. Glenda

Congrats! and loving the unique name of Fox!
Enjoy every minute of every day and can’t wait to hear all about delivery, poop and all πŸ™‚

    • I really am enjoying it. The whole no sleep and chapped nipples thing are just minor inconveniences compared to the full heart I’ve got.

  16. penelope

warrior mama indeed! congratulations you three!

  17. Amanda

All I can think is “Hooray!” but with a billion more exclamation marks. So happy for you guys!

  18. Raven

Congratulations! I was so excited for the growing anticipation on Instagram, then his cute little face with his dad! He’s adorable, and LOVE his name. Hope you’re all doing great! (poor Boots)

    • I first read that as “poor boobs” and I was going to be all “I know, right!?”

      • Naomi

but babes, it IS poor boobs. Nursing boobs = saggy boobs. BUT … that is a small price to pay for all the glory that comes with raising children (until a certain age … and when the Fantastics Mr. Fox gets there, ring me … we’ll talk)

  19. Vanessa

Congratulations! I love the name Fox Elliott! When I saw the name reveal on Instagram I was wondering (as an X-Files fan) if it had anything to do (kind of like how you were considering Spike because of Buffy).

    • I’m not a huge X-Files fan but Fox Mulder definitely made me feel like it wasn’t too weird of a name. It’s also Wes Anderson inspired for sure.

  20. Marisa

So Happy for you and your family. Congrats!!!!!! The best part—- is you get to be his mom! and Jeremy gets to be his dad!

  21. Sarah

    There he is!!!!!!!!!!

  22. Angela

  23. Ehsa

Hooray for you, Jeremy, and that adorable Mr. Fox! You make a wonderful family! Congratulations!

  24. Katie F.

Fox is beautiful-congrats! If it wasn’t a brand you already have on the list to try and/or you want suggestions, Best Bottom cloth diapers from Nicki’s Diapers are awesome. They’re made here in WI and are super trim/easy to use.
Have fun getting to know your peanut!

  25. Becca

I smiled so big when I saw that pic! Fox!! Congrats to you all-

  26. Kathy C.
